Alex DeCapri is just another human being living life and enjoying the ride.

Hi, I’m Alex DeCapri, and I have trouble labeling myself because my interests are always changing. Because of this, I live a nomadic lifestyle to have the ability to be wherever, doing whatever, whenever I desire.
Life is short, and the world has so much to explore. I want to experience it all. That’s a big reason I travel: there are so many people, places, and things that I have yet to meet, see, and discover. I enjoy learning new things and challenging myself. Perspective and beauty are vital.
When I was 22, I sold everything I owned and moved from the United States to Portugal, living out of a 50L Osprey pack and a regular school backpack. This – more or less – started the journey that I am currently on.
Since then, I have spent a lot of time in Brazil and tend to be there more often than not. The charisma of the people, the samba music playing in the streets on a random Wednesday night, the beautiful language… these keep me going back again and again.
For now, though, I am exploring the Americas in my self-converted Ford Transit van. It’s my dream mobile home, complete with a kitchen, bed, desk, toilet, shower, solar power, and plants. Oh, and lots of equipment to brew a nice cup of specialty coffee.
To fund my travels, I do freelance writing. You can hire me here and pay for my damn Starlink, which keeps me connected with high-speed internet on the road. That thing isn’t cheap!
I’m fluent in Portuguese and English.
I love kitesurfing, snowboarding, and hiking in the mountains.
I’ve worked approximately 534 unrelated jobs.
I’m 6’0″ with blue eyes and brown hair.
And I love life.
